Healthy Relationships

Hello Hello my Chosen friends! It’s been a while. The truth is I’ve been busy with all sorts of things but I have to remember my number one priority, which is kingdom work, and hence I am back with you.

One of those things that can keep us busy sometimes is our relationships. The type of relationship may vary, but one thing they all have in common is that they take up our time. Relationships are important and since they do take up a significant portion of our lives it’s essential that they are healthy. For now, we’ll discuss relationships in general and perhaps later we can talk about some specific types.

In the body of Christ, we are all members of one family; just as a natural body with it’s different parts. Your limbs, your head, your torso, your organs are different parts that may make up your body and are similar to all of us that comprise the body of Christ. Therefore, the things we do affect other members of the body. If one member eats right and exercises that will have a positive effect on the body. On the other hand, when one part of the body transgresses the whole body is affected. So that simply says to me friends, we have to be our brother’s keeper. Ephesians 5:21 says “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” We can’t just be about self; no man is an island. As I say that I recall a discussion I had with a co-worker about teamwork. I was illustrating the fact that even though we may think at times that we work better alone, we can’t deny the power that teamwork holds; when our individual strengths are put together. Additionally, it’s natural; we were born into a family and are constantly surrounded by different groups our entire lives. Read Joshua 7:1 & 20-22 to see an example of one person's actions affecting a nation http://bit.ly/Joshua7-1-20-22.

Even though we are a family, we are different individuals but there can be unity in diversity.
Let’s look at 10 Things That Bring About Unity In The Family:

1.       Love – Love unconditionally so that when the challenges come up, you’re not easily deterred.

2.       Obedience – When God provides you with instruction, carry it out. We only see the present while God sees the entire plan.

3.       Discipline – Everyone has his/her role to fulfil as a part of the body. Develop the discipline to keep at your part, regardless of how you feel about it.

4.       Mutual Respect – Respect must be shown at all times, even if you don’t agree.

5.       Trust – Essential in achieving the purpose as mistrust causes division.

6.       Support – Part of the reason we are not alone; we need to bear each other up; in good times and bad.

7.       Fairness & Equality – Always do what is right.

8.       Forgiveness – We all err and need to be forgiven. Forgive always.

9.       Communication – Aim to always communicate effectively.

10.   Care – Put love into action and ensure the other members feel it.

Chosen let us aim to blend these key ingredients in our lives so we can produce healthy relationships, which are vital to our well-being.
