Called To Witness

Hello friends, welcome back; I missed you guys. A few persons comment on the posts and most prefer to comment directly in a conversation with me and I appreciate it all. It’s important to remember that we are not in this walk alone so we do have each other to lean on.

In the same breath of community spirit, we’ll briefly explore witnessing. And when I say witnessing, I’m not referring to a specific denomination; so I’m happy we cleared the air on that one. According to allaboutgod.com, Christian Witnessing is “merely sharing our heartfelt faith in Christ – what he’s personally done to change our individual lives”.

All Christians should be witnesses and not just a selected few. Yes, we are given different gifts of the spirit (which we can talk about another time) but all would have experienced a certain change upon conversion and are required to share it; and you don’t have to be the best speaker, just start where you are. Read the following scriptures http://bit.ly/1Cor2-1. I know it may seem daunting as you can drum up all the objections that persons may have but continue learning and in the time being use yourself as a living testimony to the goodness of God.

To our unsaved friends, I know often times you say Christians are one of the pushiest sets of persons but I ask for your pardon. The thing is, salvation is something that requires action; not good works but being genuinely sorry for your sins, asking for forgiveness, accepting that Jesus died for our sins and taking him as your Lord and personal saviour, getting baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. So, us Christians knowing that you cannot be saved by just ‘living good’ and having a ‘clean heart’ and being passive, try with urgency to get you to see the light. None of us know when God will make his appearance again here on earth, so the Kingdom of God is at hand.

Look at it this way, if you received something so marvellous that it changed your life, wouldn’t you want to share it with others, especially those you love? I think the answer to that for most of us is yes. So this is exactly what it’s like to receive Christ.

This blog is one of the media I am using to witness and share my testimonies with you all. I know a lot of persons don’t like to read but for the few that will, I will share. I will also employ other means of sharing what God has been doing in my life. I can tell you that it’s pure joy when you reap fruits of your labour. Recently, three persons close to me dedicated their lives to Christ and I am overjoyed by that and also to know that I influenced them in making that decision.

Friends, I hope that from this brief discussion, you would have gathered what witnessing is, who should be a witness, why witnessing is necessary and how to go about witnessing. So now, Chosen go out there and be a witness for Christ Jesus and win some souls for the kingdom of God.
